💡Prompt Hack

GRADE Prompt Technique

The GRADE prompting technique is a structured way to craft prompts, especially for tools like ChatGPT, to ensure clarity and specificity. Here's a breakdown of each letter:

G - Guide This refers to the initial instruction or guidance you provide to set the context or tone of the conversation. It helps in directing the AI towards the desired outcome.

R - Role This defines the role you want the AI to take on. For instance, you might want the AI to act as a teacher, a researcher, a storyteller, etc. Specifying a role can help in shaping the AI's response.

A - Action This is the specific task or action you want the AI to perform. It could be explaining a concept, generating a list, offering suggestions, etc.

D - Direction This provides further specifics or constraints on how you want the AI to approach the action. It can include limitations, style, format, or any other guiding direction.

E - Examples Providing examples can be very helpful. They give the AI a clearer idea of what you're looking for, especially if your request is complex or nuanced.
