1. India’s 1st AI Multimodal “Hanooman” coming soon: (Seetha Mahalaxmi Healthcare (SML), in collaboration with IIT-Bombay has introduced Hanooman AI. The first-four open-source models in the Hanooman series (1.5 billion, 7 billion, 13 billion, and 40 billion parameters) are set to be released soon.

2. Elon Musk says ‘will drop lawsuit if OpenAI changes name to ClosedAI’: Musk claims that the company has violated its founding mission by prioritizing profit over the benefits of humanity:

   Musk also claims that Altman and co-founder Greg Brockman have violated OpenAI's founding mission to develop AI safely.

3. Anthropic’s Claude 3 outperformed GPT-4 across multiple parameters: Claude 3 Opus has surpassed GPT-4 on as many as 10 AI benchmarks, which include MMLU (undergraduate level knowledge), HumanEval (Coding), and HellaSwag (common knowledge), etc. On the benchmark scores, Claude 3 beats its peers narrowly.

4. Figure Raises $675M at $2.6B Valuation: Figure, an AI robotics company developing general purpose humanoid robots raised $675M in Series B funding at a $2.6B valuation with investments from Microsoft, OpenAI Startup Fund, NVIDIA, Jeff Bezos (through Bezos Expeditions). This investment will accelerate humanoid manufacturing.

Indian Government makes AI labelling mandatory: After an issue with Google's AI talking about Prime Minister Modi, the Indian government now wants all online platforms to clearly mark AI systems that are still being tested. They also have to get government permission before using these AI systems and tell users clearly about any mistakes these AIs might make.
